Synopsis
Game of Werewolves (Lobos de Arga, 2011) is a Spanish horror-comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Juan Martínez Moreno, the film sends struggling writer Tomas Marino back to Arga, the Galician village his family comes from — supposedly to receive a local award.
The welcome is warmer than expected. Too warm. Back in 1911, Tomas's ancestors brought a werewolf curse down on the village, and the locals have been waiting a hundred years for a Marino to come back and fix it. Carlos Areces and Gorka Otxoa keep the tone light even when things get messy, balancing scares with genuinely funny moments. A solid pick if you want your monster movie to wink at the camera.
