Synopsis
The Toxic Avenger Part III: The Last Temptation of Toxie (1989) is a Troma splatter-action comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Toxie, the deformed mop-wielding superhero, needs cash for surgery that could restore his blind fiancée's sight — so he signs on with the evil conglomerate Apocalypse Inc.
The setup spoofs The Last Temptation of Christ, except the soul on the line belongs to a gargoyle-faced mutant and the blood is gallons of fake red. Bit by bit, Toxie shifts from protector of Tromaville to corporate enforcer before he figures out who he's really working for. Directed by Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz, the founders of Troma, the film is cheap on purpose and crude with pride: gore, groan-worthy gags and a satire of corporate America all thrown in the blender.
