Synopsis
I Am Santa Claus (Io sono Babbo Natale, 2021) is an Italian Christmas comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Fresh out of prison, small-time thief Ettore breaks into a lonely old man's villa — and the owner calmly informs him that he is the real Santa Claus.
The robbery falls apart at once. The huge house holds nothing worth taking, just piles of children's toys. Instead of throwing Ettore out, old Nicola (Gigi Proietti) offers him a job as his helper. Ettore (Marco Giallini) is sure he's dealing with a harmless lunatic. Then the strange coincidences start piling up, and his hard-nosed skepticism cracks a little more each day.
Directed by Edoardo Falcone, the film became one of the final roles for Gigi Proietti, a giant of Italian stage and screen, and it rests on his sly, gentle charm.
