Synopsis
Doraemon: Nobita and the Birth of Japan (2016) is a feature-length anime film you can watch online on iFILM — a reimagining of the beloved 1989 Doraemon theatrical adventure, running 104 minutes.
Nobita is tired of being picked on at school and nagged at home. So he and Doraemon hatch a plan: escape to prehistoric Japan, roughly 70,000 years into the past, before the islands had cities or rulers. Once there, the group meets Kukuru, a boy whose entire tribe has been enslaved by the villain Gigazombie. Doraemon decides to help.
Annual Doraemon theatrical films have been a Japanese cinema staple since 1980, with over forty entries in the franchise. This 2016 outing refreshes one of its most popular storylines for a new generation while keeping the warmth that made it famous. Works as a standalone even for newcomers to the series. Stream Doraemon: Nobita and the Birth of Japan (2016) online on iFILM.
