Synopsis
Knights of Sidonia (2014), Season 1 — watch all 12 episodes online on iFILM. Earth is already gone. The Gauna destroyed it a thousand years ago, and humanity has been running ever since aboard the city-ship Sidonia.
Nagate Tanikaze has never seen the upper decks. His grandfather hid him deep in the ship's forgotten lower sections his whole life. When he finally surfaces, the military learns he can pilot a Gardes combat mech better than recruits who trained for years. Season 1 follows him through a rapid series of engagements against the Gauna — organisms that resist conventional weapons and can replicate human forms. He disobeys orders to save a friend. He and a squad-mate drift in open space waiting for a rescue that may not arrive. Each battle reveals the enemy is larger and stranger than the previous briefing suggested.
