Synopsis
A Secret Love (2020) is a documentary by Chris Bolan you can watch online — and one of the gentlest, most honest love stories you'll find on film. Terry Donahue and Pat Henschel spent nearly seventy years together. For most of them, they hid what they were to each other.
Back in the 1940s Terry played in the women's professional baseball league that later inspired A League of Their Own. Pat stayed at her side for decades, while the family was told they were friends, or cousins. The camera meets the couple in old age, facing a quiet reckoning: come out to relatives at last, or keep the secret for good. Aging, a move, and a niece angling over their care all press in at once.
