The New Legends of Monkey (2018) is an Australian-New Zealand fantasy series you can watch online on iFILM. Produced for ABC Kids and Netflix, it draws on the classic 16th-century Chinese fable Journey to the West, starring Chai Hansen and Lucianne Buchanan.

Gods have fallen, demons run loose, and the world is slipping toward ruin. A teenage girl named Tripitaka stumbles across the stone prison of the Monkey King — arrogant, powerful, and very much done sitting still. She frees him, and together with two other disgraced deities they set out to recover sacred scrolls and push back the darkness. Each companion carries the weight of past failures and has to earn a way back.
