The Village

The Village (2023) is a Japanese drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Michihito Fujii. It unfolds in a fading rural town that lives in the shadow of an enormous waste-processing plant.

Yuji was born here and seems doomed to stay — buried in debt, working the trash site, dragging his late father's disgrace behind him. Ryusei Yokohama plays him as a man who swallows every insult in silence, until a childhood friend (Haru Kuroki) comes back with a plan to revive the place. What looks like a way out becomes another trap.
