Synopsis
Good Gals (Brave ragazze, 2019) is an Italian heist comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Director Michela Andreozzi rewinds to the 1980s, where four women with nothing left to lose pull on men's suits and rob a bank.
Each of them has a reason. Anna raises two kids alone with no job in sight. The pious Maria lives under the fist of a violent husband. Sisters Kikka and Caterina dream of a different future and bicker over everything in between. The robbery goes sideways, a stubborn commissioner named Morandi picks up the trail, and one reckless job sets off a chain of absurd, dangerous scrapes.
The cast pairs Ambra Angiolini, Ilenia Pastorelli and Serena Rossi with Italian screen legend Stefania Sandrelli as the family matriarch. The plot borrows from a real all-female gang that worked the Avignon area in the mid-80s, then moves the whole caper to Italy and plays it for warmth and laughs rather than grit.
