Christian is an ornithologist who has dedicated his life to a colony of wild geese in the French countryside. His teenage son has never shared the enthusiasm; spending a holiday away from screens, knee-deep in mud beside his father, is not a plan — it's a sentence. But when the geese face extinction and Christian decides to guide them to safety in Norway by ultralight aircraft, he has no one else to take along.

Vanier filmed with real birds in actual flight alongside the aircraft, which gives the aerial sequences a physical weight that no CGI approximation would match.
