Lassie

Lassie (1994) is a family adventure you can watch online with kids of pretty much any age — the kind of film that earns its emotions without leaning too hard on manipulation. Directed by Daniel Petrie, it follows the Turner family as they trade city life for a sheep farm in rural Virginia, picking up a stray collie along the way.

Tom Guiry plays Matt, the oldest Turner kid and the one who bonds fastest with Lassie. The adjustment to farm life is rocky — neighbouring rancher Sam Garland (Frederic Forrest) doesn't welcome the newcomers, and the Turners are clearly out of their depth on the land. Lassie keeps finding ways to pull the family through, while a younger Michelle Williams makes one of her earliest screen appearances in a supporting role.

It's a gentle film, unhurried in a way that makes it feel a bit like the era it's set in. Not a hard watch by any measure, but the relationship between boy and dog is genuinely warm. Stream Lassie (1994) online on iFILM.
