Satan (Sheitan, 2006) is a French horror-thriller directed by Kim Chapiron — watch online on iFILM. After a bad night at a Paris club, a group of young men follows a girl named Eva out of the city to her family's countryside property. No signal, dirt roads, a house that feels a little off.

The caretaker is a man named Joseph, played by Vincent Cassel: chatty, grinning, clearly wrong. He makes fondue, tells stories and simply doesn't leave. The film takes its time letting things slide sideways — the dread builds through small social wrongness rather than jump scares, until the wrongness is everywhere at once. Monica Bellucci appears in a small role. The whole thing runs 87 minutes and doesn't overstay.

Cassel is the reason to watch: Joseph is the kind of character who repels and pulls at the same time, and that tension is what the film runs on. Stream Satan online on iFILM.
