Walking with Beasts (Season 1)
FROM A TIME THE WORLD FORGOT.
Synopsis
Walking with Beasts (2001) is a BBC documentary series you can watch online on iFILM. The cameras pick up where the dinosaurs left off, following the strange warm-blooded creatures that inherited the planet — the distant ancestors of every mammal alive today.
Across six episodes the show travels tens of millions of years, from tiny shrew-like survivors hiding in the undergrowth to saber-toothed hunters and rhinos the size of a house. Building on the techniques of Walking with Dinosaurs, the team rendered extinct animals as if a film crew had stood right beside them, blending computer graphics with real landscapes. Kenneth Branagh narrates the original British cut; Stockard Channing voices the version made for American audiences.
This is natural history staged like a safari rather than a lecture — close, immersive footage of animals no one ever filmed. Great for kids and for any adult who never got enough paleontology in school. Stream Walking with Beasts (2001) online on iFILM.
