Synopsis
Jesus Henry Christ (2012) is an American comedy-drama from director Dennis Lee, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Ten-year-old Henry is a prodigy conceived in a petri dish and raised by a single feminist mother who has few illusions left about men.
When Henry uncovers an old note, he sets out to track down his biological father. The trail leads to a university professor played by Michael Sheen and to the man's teenage daughter, whose tell-all book about her own family has turned her into the school pariah. Toni Collette plays Henry's mother — sharp, fiercely loving, and entirely unprepared for the way her son is about to upend their settled little world. The closer the boy gets to an answer, the clearer it becomes that nobody here ever had a normal family.
The film runs on dry, slightly absurdist humor and isn't afraid to sit with real grief between the jokes. It clicks for fans of offbeat indie comedies about unconventional families, the Sundance kind. Stream Jesus Henry Christ (2012) online on iFILM.
