Synopsis
Turkish for Beginners (2012) is a German comedy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Bora Dagtekin — the man behind the long-running TV series of the same name. Josefine Preuß plays Lena, a nineteen-year-old desperate for a holiday away from her therapist mother. What she gets instead is a crash landing on a deserted island.
Stranded alongside her is Cem, a Turkish pretty-boy played by Elyas M'Barek, his devout sister Yağmur and a stuttering kid named Kosta. Back at the hotel, their parents stumble into each other and start their own awkward entanglement. Two families — one German, one Turkish — thrown together with no exit plan and very different ideas about everything.
