Ludo

Ludo (2020) is an Indian crime-comedy anthology from director Anurag Basu, available to watch online on iFILM. Four separate tales — a leaked sex tape, a suitcase of dirty cash, a getaway and a bungled kidnapping — collide by pure chance around a single eccentric gangster.

The title nods to the board game: fate shoves the characters around the board like tokens, and every roll of the dice reshapes someone else's game. Pankaj Tripathi plays the oddball criminal who knots the threads together, while Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Aditya Roy Kapur, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra each carry a strand that swings from pitch-black farce to something almost tender. Across 150 minutes the stories drift apart and slam back together, until the ending locks them into one chain of cause and effect.

Basu shoots it loud — punchy colors, gallows humor, a constant teeter between slapstick and real violence. It's a good fit if you like puzzle-box plots and don't mind a big Bollywood swing in the telling. Stream Ludo (2020) online on iFILM.
