Ditto

Ditto (2022) is a South Korean romance you can watch online on iFILM. Kim Yong has finished his army service and made it into a prestigious university — the year is 1999, and an old ham radio crackles in his room. One night, during a total lunar eclipse, the airwaves suddenly carry a stranger's voice.

On the other end is Kim Mu-nee, a student at the very same school, only in 2022. Separated by more than two decades, the two talk over amateur radio as if they were sitting in neighboring lecture halls — about friendship, first love, the things that quietly hurt. The signal is fragile and bound to break, and both of them know their conversations come with an expiry date. Yeo Jin-goo and Cho Yi-hyun take the leads, directed by Seo Eun-young, in this reworking of a Korean film from 2000.

What carries the movie isn't the sci-fi conceit but the tone: two strangers become each other's closest person, fully aware they'll never meet. A good fit for fans of gentle Korean dramas about time, choices and what never came to be. Stream Ditto (2022) online on iFILM.
