Synopsis
The Classic (클래식, 2003) — watch online on iFILM — is a Korean romantic drama directed by Kwak Jae-yong and starring Son Ye-jin in a dual role. College student Ji-hae finds a box of her mother's old letters while clearing out a room. She starts reading. She can't stop.
The letters describe a summer in 1968: a rural village, a first love named Joon-ha, an ending neither of them planned. Kwak, the director of My Sassy Girl (2001), trades that film's comedic edge for something quieter — two parallel love stories that echo each other across decades, with Son Ye-jin playing mother and daughter as genuinely distinct women rather than two versions of the same character. Jo Seung-woo and Jo In-sung play the men across both timelines.
