Synopsis
Takva: A Man's Fear of God (2006) is a Turkish-German drama by Özer Kızıltan, available to watch online on iFILM. The film follows Muharrem, a quietly devout man in Istanbul who has kept the outside world at arm's length for most of his adult life.
His sheikh, the head of a Sufi religious order, sees his piety and hands him a practical assignment: collect rents from the order's properties across the city. The job seems routine. But once Muharrem steps into the world of money and small authority, something in him shifts — not toward obvious sin, but toward pride, irritability and a self-importance he never had before. His sleep fills with a woman he cannot stop thinking about.
Erkan Can gives the film its stillness — a performance built from what the character cannot say aloud. Kızıltan observes without narrating, letting you watch a man's inner architecture quietly come apart. Stream Takva (2006) online on iFILM.
