Airbag

Airbag (1997) is Juanma Bajo Ulloa's Spanish crime-action-comedy, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Mommy's boy Juantxo is about to get married, but during a stag-night detour to a brothel he loses his absurdly expensive wedding ring — inside one of the working girls.

From there it all goes off the rails, fast. The ring ends up with a mob-connected pimp; a rival gangster gets wind of it and sends the femme fatale Fátima to poke around. Juantxo and his two useless buddies set out to get it back and fall straight into a gang war of guns, drug runners and stolen cars that never slows down for a breath. Fernando Guillén Cuervo, Karra Elejalde, Alberto San Juan and María de Medeiros run wild, with veteran Francisco Rabal lending the chaos some old-school weight.

Bajo Ulloa made a loud, deliberately tasteless, breakneck ride that became one of Spain's biggest box-office hits of the nineties. It's a treat for fans of trashy crime mayhem in the vein of early Tarantino or Snatch. Stream Airbag (1997) online on iFILM.
