Synopsis
The Three Investigators in The Secret of Skeleton Island (2007) is a German family adventure film you can watch online on iFILM. It's based on Robert Arthur Jr.'s book series Die drei ???, one of the biggest youth mystery franchises in Germany, and follows Jupiter Jones, Pete Crenshaw and Bob Andrews — three amateur detectives who arrive in South Africa expecting a holiday and immediately find a case.
Something is very wrong on the island where Pete's father is working. The boys start pulling threads. Cameron Monaghan, later known from Shameless and Gotham, plays one of the trio alongside Nick Price and Chancellor Miller; James Faulkner and Nigel Whitmey round out the cast. Director Florian Baxmeyer shot the film partly on location in South Africa, which gives the mystery a physical scale most studio productions wouldn't bother with.
