Synopsis
The Brothers Solomon (2007) is a goofball American comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Dan and John Solomon grew up homeschooled by their dad in the Arctic, which left them sweet, earnest and hopeless around women. When their father slips into a coma, the brothers set out to grant his last wish: a grandchild.
What follows is a string of misadventures with surrogacy, terrible dates and two clueless men trying to reverse-engineer how romance works. Will Arnett and Will Forte play it straight-faced, and that wide-eyed sincerity is what sells the dumbest gags. Kristen Wiig, Malin Akerman, Jenna Fischer and Bill Hader round out the cast.
Forte wrote the script himself, back before his SNL fame turned into MacGruber, so the humor is deliberately weird and aggressively wholesome. It bombed in theaters and divides people to this day.
