Synopsis
Pippi Longstocking (Pippi Långstrump, 1969) is Olle Hellbom's family adventure, ready to watch online on iFILM. It brings Astrid Lindgren's books about the strongest little girl alive to the screen.
Pippi moves all by herself into a rambling house called Villa Villekulla — no parents, but a horse on the porch, a monkey named Mr. Nilsson, and a suitcase full of gold coins. The neighbor kids, Tommy and Annika, have never met anyone who can do absolutely anything she likes: sleep with her feet on the pillow, lift a horse with one arm, and skip school entirely. Red braids sticking straight out, freckles, mismatched stockings — Inger Nilsson played her so well that the image is still recognized across Europe.
The movie was stitched together from the beloved Swedish TV series and kicked off a whole run of Lindgren adaptations. It's one of those rare children's films where the grown-ups look silly and kindness beats the rules every time. A warm pick for a family movie night. Stream Pippi Longstocking (1969) online on iFILM.
