Synopsis
Marie-Octobre (1959) is a French detective film you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Julien Duvivier. Fifteen years after the German occupation, the surviving members of a Resistance cell gather at the home of Marie-Hélène Dumoulin — codename Marie-Octobre — to do what postwar life never forced them to: name the traitor who got their leader killed.
The film takes place over one evening, in one room. Eight former allies, eight different versions of the same night. Danielle Darrieux, Lino Ventura, Bernard Blier, and Serge Reggiani make up an ensemble that treats the material like a stage play — every silence charged, every alibi a little too neat. As composure slips and excuses run out, Duvivier turns a dinner party into a sustained act of moral reckoning.
