Synopsis

Set in 1790s California, the series follows Diego after he returns from Spain — trained in fencing and acrobatics — to find his homeland under a ruthless new governor who rules Los Angeles like a personal estate. The mask comes back on. Diego falls for Esmeralda (Natasha Klauss), a beautiful young widow who also happens to be the governor's daughter, and the mystery surrounding her long-lost mother threatens to unravel the Spanish Empire itself. Osvaldo Ríos and Marlene Favela keep the ensemble sharp: alliances here shift without warning and loyalties are never what they appear.
