Synopsis
The Mole: Undercover in North Korea (2020) is a documentary you can watch online on iFILM — ten years of hidden-camera footage shot inside the most sealed-off country on earth.
Ulrich Løvenskjold Larsen, an ordinary Dane, joins the Korean Friendship Association, a network of Western admirers of the Kim regime, and patiently works his way up. The cover is thin, the camera is concealed, and exposure means prison or worse. His climb leads him to Alejandro Cao de Benós, the Spaniard who has fronted for Pyongyang in the West for decades, and to recorded deals on weapons and drugs meant to slip past international sanctions.
Danish filmmaker Mads Brügger directs with his usual mix of dark farce and genuine danger. The whole thing is almost too strange to be true, which is exactly why you can't look away — secret footage that grips harder than any scripted spy thriller. Stream The Mole online on iFILM.
