Veneno (Season 1)

Veneno (2020) is a Spanish biographical drama series you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, it traces the life of Cristina Ortiz Rodríguez — known as La Veneno, "The Poison" — one of the first openly transgender women to become a television sensation in Spain.

In the 1990s Cristina lit up late-night talk shows: blunt, hilarious, completely unafraid of the camera. The series follows her from childhood in Andalusia through poverty, legal battles, and the strange celebrity that came with being something Spain's media had no category for. Journalist Valeria Vegas (Lola Rodríguez) provides the frame — she tracked Cristina down years later and eventually wrote her biography. Three actresses share the role of Cristina across different chapters of her life: Jedet, Isabel Torres, and Daniela Santiago, each finding a different register.
