The crew of the airship Quin Zaza drifts through the clouds for months, tracking flights of dragons. Veteran harpooner Mika throws himself into the most dangerous spots, newcomer Takita learns to stomach the heights and the blood, and the ship's cook works out how to turn a carcass into dinner for the whole crew. The cooking scenes aren't filler: half the show's charm is in how dragons get butchered and eaten — grim, mouthwatering and oddly cozy at once.

This is a CG anime from Polygon Pictures, adapted from Taku Kuwabara's manga and released on Netflix. Across twelve episodes it plays more like a workplace drama about a craft than an epic of battles, prizing patience, skill and quiet evenings on deck.
