Synopsis
Battle of Jangsari (2019) is a South Korean war drama you can watch online on iFILM. September 1950, the Korean War. While General MacArthur prepares the Incheon landing, 772 young volunteers are dropped on a beach in North Gyeongsang to pull enemy troops the other way.
Most of these soldiers are still teenagers. Two weeks of drill, one rifle between two, and orders to hold a shore where command has quietly written them off. A company captain tries to keep at least a few of them breathing as they learn to fire under live shells. Watching it all is American war correspondent Marguerite Higgins, played by Megan Fox, with George Eads also in the cast. Kim Myung-min and pop idol Minho headline.
Directed by Kwak Kyung-taek, the film follows up 2016's Operation Chromite and digs out a sliver of the war the history books skipped. There's no gloss here — just mud, panic, and boys who were never even issued ID numbers. Stream Battle of Jangsari (2019) online on iFILM.
