The Tick (Seasons 1–3)

The Tick (1994) is an animated superhero spoof you can watch online on iFILM. Bounding across the rooftops of The City in blue tights is an indestructible, big-hearted and slightly unhinged crime-fighter who simply calls himself The Tick.

He's got the strength of a force of nature and zero fear — though common sense comes and goes. At his side is Arthur, a former accountant who patrols in a moth suit. Together they tangle with a gallery of gloriously ridiculous villains: Chairface Chippendale, who has a chair for a head; the plant-based menace El Seed; and the Breadmaster, who threatens the town with weaponized pastry. Townsend Coleman voices the title hero.

Adapted from Ben Edlund's indie comic, the show runs on absurdist humor rather than action — the hero booms self-important speeches about nothing, and the bad guys mostly defeat themselves.
