Synopsis
Space Oddity (2023) is an American romantic dramedy with a sci-fi twist, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Alex is hooked on the idea of space, and he's signed up for a private Mars colonization program. The ticket is one-way, the sponsor is lined up, and he has no intention of ever coming back.
Then, in the middle of his preparations, he meets Daisy. Suddenly leaving Earth for good doesn't sound quite so appealing. Alex finds himself caught between the dream he's chased his whole life and a person who keeps pulling him back down — to his parents, the family farm, the ordinary terrestrial life he was so eager to escape. Kyle Allen and Alexandra Shipp play the couple, alongside Kevin Bacon, Alfre Woodard and Simon Helberg.
This marks the feature directing work of actress Kyra Sedgwick: a small, warm story where the trip to Mars is really an excuse to talk about fear of commitment rather than hard science.
