It Comes

It Comes (来る, 2018) is a Japanese horror film you can watch online on iFILM, from director Tetsuya Nakashima — known for Confessions (2010), one of the coldest thrillers to come out of Japan that decade.

Young couple Hideki and Kana are expecting their first child. They've secretly picked a name — Chisa — and told absolutely no one. Then a coworker relays a greeting from an unknown visitor who somehow already knows it. That coworker dies in agony less than a year later. Something moves into the couple's apartment: not a ghost, not a demon, just an entity the film refuses to label. When an exorcist finally gets called in, even he admits he's out of his depth.

Junichi Okada, Nana Komatsu, Satoshi Tsumabuki, and Takako Matsu anchor a film that opens as domestic drama and ends in full ritual chaos. At 135 minutes it earns every one of them. Stream It Comes (2018) on iFILM.
