Synopsis
Mortadelo & Filemón: Mission Implausible (2014) is a Spanish animated comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Javier Fesser, it adapts the long-running comic series by Francisco Ibáñez — one of Spain's most beloved strips, following two spectacularly incompetent secret agents since 1958.
A villain called Jimmy the Laugher has unleashed a contagion that causes uncontrollable laughter at the worst possible moments. The agency's finest — or at least its most available — agents, Mortadelo and Filemón, are sent to stop him. Disguises go wrong, plans collapse, explosions happen in the wrong order. The chaos is the point.
Fesser keeps the anarchic energy of Ibáñez's original panels, where the joke is always that "heroism" is a thin disguise for incompetence. The film works on two levels: kids will love the slapstick, adults familiar with the comics will catch the sharper jabs underneath.
