Synopsis
Final Set (2021) is a French sports drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Quentin Reynaud. Thomas was once a promising tennis player, but his career never delivered on its early promise. Now 37, with a wrecked knee and a body fighting him at every step, he qualifies for the Roland-Garros qualifying rounds anyway.
His wife Eve and his mother Judith — played by Kristin Scott Thomas — both tell him to stop. He won't. Alex Lutz carries the film mostly on physicality; Ana Girardot plays the wife watching a man she loves dismantle himself. The script earns its ending by refusing the easy uplift.
