Synopsis
The Divide (La Fracture, 2021) is a French drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Catherine Corsini. Raf and Julie are splitting up — tonight, as it turns out, which also happens to be the night a Yellow Vest demonstration overwhelms Paris's emergency services.
Stuck in a corridor of a collapsing ER, they meet Yann: an injured protester with a specific, non-abstract anger about what the system has cost him. Three people, one waiting room, each carrying politics they were certain made sense until they had to share a hallway with someone who disagrees. The tension outside climbs. So does everything inside.
Corsini keeps the frame tight and the exits sealed — less a film about street protests than about the gap between people who think they're on the right side and the people they've never actually listened to.
