Prey

Prey (Prooi, 2016) is a Dutch horror comedy you can watch online on iFILM. A monstrous lion is loose in Amsterdam, killing people by night, and a zoo veterinarian steps up to stop it — the one person who grasps what the city is actually dealing with.

The authorities brush it off at first, then panic and call in an eccentric big-game hunter. Lizzy, the vet, is dragged into a bloody chase through familiar streets, where canals, bridges and rooftops become a trap and the predator stays a step ahead almost the whole time. The further it goes, the more absurd and brutal it gets — gore walking hand in hand with mean-spirited comedy.

It comes from Dick Maas, a fixture of Dutch genre cinema (The Lift, Amsterdamned), and his trademark blend of horror and satire is obvious from the opening scenes. This one is for fans of creature features that don't take themselves too seriously. Stream Prey (2016) online on iFILM.
