Synopsis
"Bruce Lee, My Brother" (李小龍, 2010) is a Hong Kong-Chinese biopic you can watch online on iFILM. Told from the perspective of his younger brother Robert Lee, the film covers the years nobody usually films: Bruce's adolescence in Hong Kong, the street fights, the early bit parts in Cantonese cinema, the first loves — everything before he boarded a ship to America at eighteen with a hundred dollars to his name.
Aarif Lee plays Bruce without the invincible aura. He's a teenager who gets picked on, a kid whose father — Cantonese opera actor Bruce's father was, played here by Tony Leung Ka-fai — sends him to learn kung fu mostly to keep him from getting expelled. The martial arts mastery that would define his legend is still just a raw tool, not yet refined into anything the world would recognize.
For anyone who knows Bruce Lee only from his 1970s films, this is the part of the story that explains everything else — the stubbornness, the drive, the refusal to accept limits — shown before it hardened into myth. Stream "Bruce Lee, My Brother" (2010) online on iFILM.
