The House of Flowers (La casa de las flores, 2018) is a Mexican dark comedy you can watch online on iFILM. The wealthy de la Mora family runs an upscale flower shop in Mexico City and a carefully staged image of happiness. Episode one wrecks it.

At the matriarch's birthday party, the father's mistress is found hanging inside the shop, and the debts, affairs and cooked books spill out. Virginia keeps smiling through it. Her daughter Paulina — whose slow, drawn-out way of speaking became a continent-wide meme — scrambles to save the business, while her brothers chase their own secrets and a second, hidden family turns up demanding a cut.

Directed by Manolo Caro, this was Netflix's first Mexican original series, a sharp jab at how the rich tuck transphobia, drugs and blackmail behind pastel bouquets. Cecilia Suárez walks off with every scene as Paulina. Stream The House of Flowers online on iFILM.
