Rampant

Rampant (2018) is a South Korean period horror-action film you can watch online on iFILM. Director Kim Sung-hoon fused a Joseon-era costume drama with a full-blown zombie outbreak, and Hyun Bin headlines as the reluctant hero.

The kingdom bows to the Qing dynasty, a coup is brewing at court, and a virus slips into the country alongside smuggled Dutch firearms — the bitten turn into ravenous, snarling night-creatures. Prince Lee Cheong, a carefree exile who has built a comfortable life in China and wants nothing to do with the throne, comes back only to collect his late brother's widow. What he finds is a realm torn apart by two threats at once: the dead that swarm after dark, and a far more calculating menace among the living in scheming minister Kim Ja-joon, played with cold menace by Jang Dong-gun.

The real draw is the sword work — sprawling nighttime battles against hordes of the infected, staged on a grand scale. It lacks the emotional weight of Train to Busan, but trades it for brisk costumed mayhem aimed at fans of Asian zombie cinema. Stream Rampant (2018) online on iFILM.
