Synopsis
Filmlovers! (2025) is a French drama you can watch online on iFILM. Over 88 minutes, director Arnaud Desplechin traces the education of a young cinephile: Paul Dédalus (Miló Machado Graner) discovers movies as a seat in the dark, and the film follows what those screenings do to him over time.
He moves from spectator to obsessive to filmmaker — and all of it is threaded with Desplechin's own memory, given that Paul Dédalus is a character the director has returned to across his career. Matthieu Amalric and Françoise Lebrun appear in supporting roles. Fiction and recollection blur by design: the argument of the film is that, for a genuine cinephile, they were always the same thing.
