Synopsis
The Stopover (Voir du pays, 2016) is a French-Greek military drama to watch online on iFILM. Directed by sisters Muriel and Delphine Coulin, it picks up where most war films end: the soldiers are already on the plane home.
A unit returns from Afghanistan having lost several of their own — killed and wounded. The French military's decompression protocol lands them at a five-star Cyprus resort for three days: mandatory therapy sessions, VR headsets that replay combat scenarios in 3D, and a pool full of tourists who have no idea where these people just came from. Two young soldiers, Aurore (Soko) and Marine (Ariane Labed), try to find a way back to ordinary life. They can't quite manage it.
