Baby (2020) is a Spanish horror-thriller from Juanma Bajo Ulloa, available to watch online on iFILM. A young woman trapped in addiction, long cut off from her wealthy family, sinks as low as a person can go: in desperation she sells her newborn son to child traffickers. The moment the haze lifts, she sets out to get him back.

The trail leads into the woods, to a grim house at the edge of nowhere where a strange old woman lives with her albino servant and a girl who moves with an unnatural, broken gait. What waits there is nothing she could have braced for. Ulloa nearly abandons dialogue altogether — the film runs on image, sound and a slow swell of nightmare, like a dark fairy tale that took a wrong turn.
