Kaos

Kaos (1984) is an Italian anthology you can watch online on iFILM, directed by brothers Vittorio and Paolo Taviani. Five stories drawn from the fiction of Luigi Pirandello — Nobel laureate and native Sicilian — filmed on location across the island he grew up on, with Omero Antonutti, Claudio Bigagli, and Massimo Bonetti leading the cast.

Each episode is its own world: a werewolf haunting a hillside village, a feudal landlord ruling by fear, peasants caught between poverty and tradition, a restless ghost, and a mother who crosses the sea to find her sons after years apart. The Tavianis don't rush any of it — at 188 minutes, Kaos earns its length, letting the Sicilian landscape and the silences carry as much weight as the dialogue.
