Synopsis
It Started With a Kiss (惡作劇之吻, 2005) is a Taiwanese romance series you can watch online on iFILM. Adapted from Kaoru Tada's Japanese manga Itazura na Kiss, it follows an ordinary, none-too-bright high-schooler hopelessly stuck on the smartest, coldest boy in class.
Xiang Qin finally confesses to genius student Zhi Shu and gets shot down on the spot. Then fate piles on: her house collapses, and her family moves in temporarily with an old friend of her father — who turns out to be Zhi Shu's dad. Suddenly the two share a roof, and the stubbornly cheerful girl refuses to give up no matter how aloof her crush stays. Ariel Lin and Joe Cheng lead, with Jiro Wang alongside.
Director Winnie Chu turned out one of the most rewatched Taiwanese rom-coms of the 2000s, perfecting the opposites-under-one-roof formula that later Asian dramas kept borrowing.
