Kin

Kin (2018) is a sci-fi action movie you can watch online on iFILM, directed by brothers Josh and Jonathan Baker. A teenager named Eli pulls a strange weapon out of an abandoned building, and what starts as a story about a troubled kid quietly tips into science fiction.

Eli has just been suspended from school, which sits badly with his strict adoptive father. Then his older brother Jimmy walks out of prison and straight into debt with a local crook played by James Franco. With home turning dangerous, the two brothers hit the road — and Eli's backpack holds an otherworldly gun that armored strangers and federal agents both want back. The cast includes Myles Truitt, Jack Reynor, Dennis Quaid and Zoë Kravitz.

The Baker brothers grew this out of their own short film and built a lean road movie where the family wounds matter more than the firefights, capped by an ending that hints at something far bigger.
