Synopsis
Ten Years (十年, 2015) is a Hong Kong anthology film you can watch online on iFILM. Five directors — Zune Kwok, Wong Fei-Pang, Jevons Au, Kiwi Chow, and Ng Ka-Leung — each contributed a short set in the same city, ten years from now.
That future Hong Kong runs Mandarin quotas in retail shops, watches activists disappear without process, and sees children organized into loyalist patrol squads. None of it qualifies as science fiction — it's projection, each piece taking a trend already visible in 2015 and following it forward to where it might land. Mainland Chinese broadcasters pulled the film shortly after release.
In 2016, Ten Years took Best Film at the Hong Kong Film Awards; reports suggest the ceremony went unbroadcast on local television. Outside China, it works as a rare example of an anthology that earns political weight without making speeches. Stream Ten Years online on iFILM.
