Synopsis

Two pregnancies have left Sonja a stranger in her own body and distant from her husband Milan. Frauke, nearing sixty, feels she's gone invisible to the man she married. Her daughter Julie chases a modeling career where every casting turns up some fresh "flaw." The threads drift apart and cross again, and the talk of diets, scales and side-glances lands uncomfortably close to home. Herfurth directs and also acts, anchoring a strong German ensemble that includes Nora Tschirner, Martina Gedeck and Emilia Schüle. It finds the laugh inside the ache and the ache inside the laugh.
