Synopsis
Love & Sex (2000) is Valerie Breiman's romantic comedy, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Magazine writer Kate Ellis turns in a piece that's too explicit to print, so her editor demands a fresh article about real relationships — by the end of the day.
The assignment shoves Kate back through her own history. She tallies up a long line of romances that kept stalling out at sex and going nowhere, until painter Adam wandered in: clumsy, sharp-tongued, far from perfect. Their story is built out of falling for each other, fighting, splitting up and awkwardly circling back. Famke Janssen gives Kate the weary edge of someone burned one too many times, while Jon Favreau makes Adam a slacker charming enough to root for.
Breiman keeps the sugar out of it. The dialogue bites, the sex plays as ordinary rather than fairy-tale, and underneath the jokes sits an honest question about telling love apart from habit. It's minor, but it's good company for a quiet night. Stream Love & Sex (2000) online on iFILM.
