Synopsis
Betaal (2020) is an Indian horror series you can watch online on iFILM. Creator Patrick Graham welds a zombie siege onto colonial history: an ancient curse wakes the dead inside a mountain tunnel — redcoat soldiers of the East India Company, led by an officer who died more than a century ago.
A modern Indian special-ops squad is sent to clear a remote village so a highway can be built. The locals warn them: leave the old British tunnel sealed. The soldiers don't listen, and out pours a battalion of the undead. The village turns into a besieged fort where the living have to hold the line through the night — and the curse has a way of digging up the private guilt each of these soldiers carries.
It's a tight story, just four blood-soaked episodes with no filler. The colonial past here isn't set dressing; it's the enemy literally clawing out of the ground.
