Synopsis
The Mountain (2019) — watch online on iFILM. Rick Alverson's arthouse drama, set in 1950s America, stars Tye Sheridan as Andy, a withdrawn young man raised in the quiet shadow of his stoic father after his mother was committed to an institution.
Dr. Wallace Fiennes — played by Jeff Goldblum — recruits Andy as a photographer to document his tour of psychiatric facilities. The procedure he champions: lobotomy, still a respectable medical option in that era. Each flash of the camera captures a still, blank face. Andy watches, documents, and slowly finds the line between observer and subject getting harder to locate. Hannah Gross, Denis Lavant, and Udo Kier round out the cast.
